+# Meet Our New Board and Officers
+
+Every year, leadership at InnerSource Commons changes hands a little: new voices join the Board, familiar ones continue, and a few step back after giving generously of their time. What doesn't change is the mission: helping organizations build better software by working in the open, together.
+
+Following this year's Board election, here's who will be leading the Foundation for the year ahead.
+

+### Continuing to Lead
+
+Three (3) Board Members are returning to build on work already underway: **Addie Cobb** (Chair), **Jeff Bailey** (Secretary ), and **Isabel Drost-Fromm** (Member). Alongside them, **Tom Sadler** continues as a non-director Foundation Officer, as the Assistant Treasurer.  Their continuity means a lot to the Foundation, and we're grateful to those who took up a new role during the appointment.

+### New to the Board
+
+We're equally glad to welcome four (4) new Board Members for their first term:
+
+- **Micaela Eller**, who will serve as the president of the board. Michaela brings extensive experience in the InnerSource industry, where she has led the InnerSource program at IBM and now EY. She has also been involved in the restructuring of the ISC  election process and board organization process.
+- **Shane Coughlan** will serve as the vice president and has made significant contributions to the InnerSource community. He brings executive-level experience and has built frameworks that bring organizations together across sectors.
+- **Aaron Williamson**, who stepped into the role of assistant secretary, has over a decade advised organizations on issues related to open source software and licensing. He is well-versed in legal-related issues as he has been counsel at FINOS, IEEE, and the Software Freedom Law Center.
+- **Guilherme Dellagustin** brings a wealth of experience in the InnerSource ecosystem, where he’s been involved in promoting InnerSource at SAP and beyond since 2019.
+
+We are super thrilled to have such a great force and diverse experiences joining the board, and look forward to the great milestones they will achieve.

+### Thank You to Our Outgoing Board
+
+We also extend our deepest appreciation to our outgoing Board members - Clare Dillon, Matt Cobby, Daniel Izquierdo Cortázar, Jerry Tan, Cristina Coffey, and Danese Cooper. The Foundation runs better today because of the insights, commitment, and time they gave it.

+### How the Board Is Chosen
+
+A quick note on process: the Board is elected annually by InnerSource Commons [Members](https://innersourcecommons.org/about/members/), who choose Directors for their expertise and their ability to help shape the Foundation's strategic vision.

+### A Word from Incoming Leadership
+
+I'm genuinely excited about the board coming in with me. Around the table, we have a range of perspectives across industries, geographies, and ways of thinking about how software gets built, and that diversity is exactly what this next chapter of InnerSource Commons needs. Each incoming member brings something distinct: deep enterprise practice, community-building instinct, sharp thinking on governance, and real practitioner credibility. Together, they represent the kind of leadership the Foundation needs to meet the pace, complexity, and governance challenges facing engineering organizations today.
+
+The current landscape in software development is one of speed without stability. AI has made individual developers dramatically faster, but the disciplines that keep engineering healthy are under real strain. Shared understanding of the codebase, knowledge that moves between engineers, and the governance and review practices that hold quality steady as output multiplies are all under pressure. Technical debt is compounding faster than teams can address it, and organizations increasingly struggle to fully understand the systems they have built.

+This is where InnerSource earns its place, and where the Foundation's work matters. InnerSource has always been rooted in open collaboration and the healthy practices that make it real: transparent contribution, disciplined review, cross-team ownership, and community stewardship of shared code. These patterns were not built as a response to AI; they are what keep engineering coherent whenever software is built at scale, and they matter more at a moment when speed is everywhere, and understanding is scarce.

+Stewarding the body of knowledge and turning it into practice is the work this board is stepping into. It is the conversation InnerSource is built for, and the one the field needs right now.
