Steps to Reproduce:

• 1. Open Dr Racket
• 2. systemctl suspend
• 3. Log back in and I see the Dialogue box

Version:

• Racket: version 9.3
• Distro: Arch Linux
• Desktop Env: Sway Wayland
• Likely running DrRacket on xwayland?

Looking at the error message and the code that calls preferences:set, it seems like this code is returning an empty list, which suggests that either get-display-size or get-display-count are not living up to their contracts. I'm not 100% sure about this, so I added the contracts in with this commit. Could you maybe update and then do the same steps as in the issue description to see if we get more information?

A probable guess at this point is that when your machine comes out of hibernation, the lower layer is seeing garbage values and should be ignoring them; the contract violations could confirm that and might suggest how further investigation in the wayland GUI code would help.
