Cherry-pick of #1983 (stable docs) with v1.10-specific adjustments.
The auto-backport from main failed due to conflicts with #1982 (v1.10.2 CLI reference regeneration). This PR manually applies the base changes and layers v1.10 behavior: transparent redirect from
quarto install chromium, auto-removal of legacy chromium, and theChromium (deprecated)label inquarto checkoutput.CLI reference files are unchanged — already correct from #1982.
