As this source is stating: https://ss64.com/ascii.html, x64 is not the HEX value for "@" in ASCII, x40 is.

@tomootes oh, good catch! That mistake was there since forever!

I'd actually remove that part because it's quite contradicting:

The e-mail address must not be obfuscated

and then afterwards it suggests to obfuscate it. :)

Besides, that kind of obfuscation is pretty much useless nowadays (and most likely back in the day as well).
