Summary

Consolidates two redundant pages that overlap with newer or better-scoped neighbors, in the 8/6-8/14 review window.

Change Type Pages affected Confidence Rationale (1 line)
Fold /what-is-mintlify into /reference/concepts Delete + redirect what-is-mintlify.mdx (+ es/fr/zh); nav in docs.json + es.json/fr.json/zh.json High The 8/13 IA refresh added reference/concepts.mdx, which covers the same "how Mintlify works" explanation more thoroughly; what-is-mintlify had no inbound prose links.
Merge /dashboard/permissions into /dashboard/roles Merge + redirect dashboard/permissions.mdx (+ es/fr/zh); dashboard/roles.mdx (+ es/fr/zh); nav in all four config files High 9-line stub (2 short paragraphs) about repo-vs-dashboard contributor access that reads as a subsection of the roles page; zero inbound prose links.

Changes

  • Deleted what-is-mintlify.mdx in en/es/fr/zh and removed it from the Learn → Overview group in docs.json / es.json / fr.json / zh.json. Added redirects from /what-is-mintlify (and the localized variants) to /reference/concepts.
  • Deleted dashboard/permissions.mdx in en/es/fr/zh and removed it from the Security group in all four navigation configs. Its two paragraphs are now a new Repository contributors and deployments section inside dashboard/roles.mdx (translated in es/fr/zh), sitting after the roles matrix. Updated the existing /advanced/dashboard/permissions redirects, and added new /dashboard/permissions redirects, to point at that section on the roles page.
  • Validated with mint validate and mint broken-links — both pass.

Also worth reviewing

Lower-confidence candidates left untouched so a human can triage:

  • Analytics group split (analytics/index, assistant, search, traffic, user-engagements, export, streaming) — landed 8/12 (Split analytics page into a group #6944). Several of the new pages are 30–45 lines and could arguably re-consolidate, but the split is intentional and recent, and each page now has its own SEO description. Recommend waiting a release or two to see how traffic distributes before undoing it.
  • ai/slack-bot.mdx — the page is marked deprecated at the top and is not in docs.json navigation, but guides/knowledge-base.mdx (en/es/fr/zh) still links to it from prose as a live recommendation. Either drop the link and redirect the page, or unmark it as deprecated — the current mixed signal is confusing.
  • dashboard/security-contact.mdx — 15-line stub that mostly says "go to the Security contact settings page." Could fold into an SSO/security parent page, but there is no obvious single owner and it is Enterprise-gated, so the standalone page may be intentional for discoverability.
  • guides/index.mdx vs guides/help-center.mdx / guides/knowledge-base.mdx / guides/developer-documentation.mdx / guides/custom-frontend.mdx — the "Use cases" cluster is coherent but the landing page overlaps with each individual use-case page's intro. Worth a scoped audit.

Notes for reviewers

  • No content was added; the new subsection in dashboard/roles.mdx is a straight lift of the two paragraphs that were on dashboard/permissions.mdx, lightly re-ordered so the general rule comes first and the editor/admin behavior follows. The redirects for /dashboard/permissions (and its Chinese variant) land on the roles page (Chinese hits the page root because the localized anchor slug wasn't verified end-to-end).
  • Unrelated bugs noticed but not touched: none in these files.

Note

Low Risk
Documentation-only consolidation with redirects; no application or security logic changes.

Overview
Removes two thin, overlapping docs pages and folds their content into neighbors, with redirects and nav updates across en, es, fr, and zh.

/what-is-mintlify is deleted from all locales and dropped from the Learn → Overview nav in docs.json and locale JSON configs. Traffic is redirected to /reference/concepts (and localized equivalents).

/dashboard/permissions is deleted and removed from the Security nav group. Its repo-vs-dashboard deployment explanation moves into a new Repository contributors and deployments section on dashboard/roles (with translated headings and anchor IDs in es/fr/zh). Redirects from /dashboard/permissions, /advanced/dashboard/permissions, and locale variants now target roles#repository-contributors-and-deployments.
