What

Bump distro versions to their latest LTS' or releases.

Why

Since it removed the impression Greenbone is not moving with the latest distros

Did you test if the source build still works with the changed distro versions? it's not about updating the used versions only. it's about testing it. that's why nobody touched it yet.

Debian 13 yes. Ubuntu 26.04 yes. Regarding the RHEL-based distributions I am deploying VM's now but I expect no issues.
I will report back.

To clarify, this is only for the container parts.

Ah sorry. Forgot we mention the distros here too.

You could remove them completely from the container part of the docs. because that's what containers are for, making something (nearly) independent of the underlying os. Otherwise you should make the changelog entry more specific.

Fair point. Perhaps we can just detail the Docker/Podman version tested with instead of the distro?

Yes that would be much better for the container part IMHO
