Since #7958 enabled fail_on_warning, every Read the Docs build of `latest` fails in the EPUB step with: WARNING: conf value "version" should not be empty for EPUB3 PR preview builds only produce HTML, so the failure was not caught in PR checks. Read the version from source/source_main/version.h so the docs stay in sync with releases.
