This PR was opened by the Changesets release GitHub action. When you're ready to do a release, you can merge this and the packages will be published to npm automatically. If you're not ready to do a release yet, that's fine, whenever you add more changesets to main, this PR will be updated.

Minor Changes
cfba8bf: MCP client: configured Model Context Protocol servers now surface as engine tools.
New
mcpmodule withMcpConfig/McpServerConfig(the[[servers]]TOML shape Smooth already writes to~/.smooth/mcp.toml, extended withurl+bearer_tokenfor streamable HTTP) andMcpToolProvider, aToolProviderthat connects each server, lists its tools, and registers them asmcp__<server>__<tool>. Because it goes through the existingToolProviderseam, MCP tools land in the same per-turnToolRegistryas the built-ins, so a host'sToolHooks (permission gate, Narc) apply with no extra wiring.ChainedToolProvidercomposes a host's own provider with the MCP one. Both transports are supported — stdio (spawned child process) and streamable HTTP with an optional bearer token.
env,args,urlandbearer_tokenexpand${env:VAR}at connect time so secrets stay out of config files. Calls are bounded by a per-server timeout (60s default) and MCP tool-level errors map to engine tool errors. A server that will not connect is logged and skipped — its tools are simply absent from the turn, never a crash.Tools only in this version: resources, prompts, sampling, and
notifications/tools/list_changedare not implemented.@smooai/smooth-operator-web-chat-example@0.0.50
