Summary

Six small backend, CI and IaC fixes, one commit each.

Closes #66
Closes #196
Closes #1075
Closes #1115
Closes #130
Closes #288

Issue Commit Fix
#66 123d52e The scheduled-auth JWKS URL must be https. Plain http is allowed only for loopback hosts, which the existing httptest servers use (the issue itself asked for https only; reviewers judged the operator-set loopback exception safe). An empty value still falls back to Google's JWKS URL
#196 dec204f deploy-all's final check allowlists success/skipped for the four deploy jobs, so a cancelled job no longer reports success
#1075 c131314 OpenAPI 3.0.3 fixes: last_collection_partial gets type: object, and max_step_commitment uses minimum: 0 + exclusiveMinimum: true. A new dialect test guards both
#1115 1f71ac6 The AKS env secret ref uses the key the Secret actually defines (password_secret_name)
#130 9f2c499 The Lambda module variable description no longer refers to a nonexistent cloudfront_distribution_arn input
#288 8a95182 The Azure Key Vault comment names the private subnet the code actually passes

Verification (local, macOS)

The Terraform changes only take effect when the modules are applied.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Deployment failures are now detected consistently, including cancelled jobs and unsuccessful results from selected providers.
    • AKS database credentials now use the matching secret key, preventing configuration mismatches.
  • Security
    • Scheduled authentication now accepts HTTPS JWKS URLs, or HTTP URLs limited to localhost and loopback addresses.
  • API
    • The API schema now explicitly identifies partial collection details as an object and excludes zero for the maximum step commitment.

cristim and others added 6 commits October 19, 2026 18:12
validateAbsoluteURL accepted any scheme, so an http JWKS endpoint let a
network attacker substitute the verification keys. Require https, matching
oidc.SetIssuerURL; plain http stays allowed for loopback hosts only so local
test doubles keep working. The empty value still falls back to the Google
JWKS URL.

Closes #66

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The check only denylisted "failure", so a cancelled deploy job fell through
to the success summary. Treat only success and skipped as ok for the four
deploy jobs.

Closes #196

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
last_collection_partial used nullable without a type, and
PlanRequest.max_step_commitment used a numeric exclusiveMinimum. Add
type: object and use minimum: 0 with boolean exclusiveMinimum, keeping the
nullable payload and strictly-positive cap semantics. A spec test pins both.

Closes #1075

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The Deployment read key "password", but the database Secret only defines
"password_secret_name", so pods would fail to start once the Kubernetes
resources are enabled. The CronJobs share the same env list.

Closes #1115

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
It told operators to pair the variable with a cloudfront_distribution_arn
input that this module does not have. State what the module actually does:
it only creates the public invoke permission for NONE, and the caller grants
CloudFront access for AWS_IAM, as environments/aws/compute.tf does.

Closes #130

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The comment said the Container App subnet reaches the vault, but the code
passes the private subnet, which exists only when create_private_subnet is
true (default false). Comment-only change.

Closes #288

📝 Walkthrough

The PR updates deployment result checks, corrects OpenAPI schema definitions, tightens OIDC JWKS URL validation, fixes an AKS Secret key reference, and clarifies two Terraform descriptions.

Changes: Deployment result checks

Layer / File(s) Summary
Deployment result allowlist
.github/workflows/deploy-all.yml
The deployment check requires determine-deployment and selected provider jobs to succeed. Unselected provider jobs may be skipped or succeed; other results mark the run failed.

OpenAPI schema corrections

Layer / File(s) Summary
Schema definitions and validation
internal/api/openapi.yaml, internal/api/openapi_dialect_test.go, known_issues/resolved/38_openapi_contract.md
last_collection_partial now has an explicit object type. max_step_commitment uses minimum: 0 and exclusiveMinimum: true. A test checks these schema fields, and the known-issue record is marked fixed.

JWKS URL validation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Scheme and host validation
internal/server/scheduledauth/validator.go, internal/server/scheduledauth/validator_test.go
JWKS URLs must use HTTPS, except HTTP is allowed for localhost and loopback IP addresses. Tests cover accepted and rejected schemes and hosts.

AKS database Secret reference

Layer / File(s) Summary
Secret key alignment
terraform/modules/compute/azure/aks/main.tf, terraform/modules/compute/azure/aks_hardening_test.go
DB_PASSWORD_SECRET now references password_secret_name. A regression test checks that Secret key references match keys in the Secret data map.

Azure Key Vault ACL description

Layer / File(s) Summary
Private subnet description
terraform/environments/azure/secrets.tf
The comment identifies the private subnet and states that it exists only when create_private_subnet is enabled, which defaults to false.

Lambda Function URL permission description

Layer / File(s) Summary
Permission responsibility
terraform/modules/compute/aws/lambda/variables.tf
The description states that the module creates public invocation permission only for NONE. For AWS_IAM, the caller must grant invocation permission.

Explanation

All changed files map to the six directly linked issues. The scheduled-auth and deploy workflow tests support their related fixes. The OpenAPI known-issue record, schema test, Terraform assertion test, IaC description, and IaC comment are also connected to the linked issue objectives. No unrelated repository area is changed.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

The PR satisfies #1075's two schema changes and dialect test, #1115's Secret-key correction and assertion test, #130's description correction, and #288's comment correction. It does not satisfy #66 because validateHTTPSURL accepts http for localhost and loopback IPs, while #66 requires HTTPS and rejection of HTTP. It does not satisfy #196 because notify still uses if: always() and prints a failure summary for cancelled jobs. #196 requires if: ${{ !cancelled() }} so cancelled runs produce no summary. The PR does not provide evidence for the pinned offline validator rerun required by #1075.

Resolution

For #66, reject every non-HTTPS JWKS URL, including HTTP loopback URLs, unless the issue requirement is formally changed. For #196, replace the notify job condition with if: ${{ !cancelled() }} and preserve the four per-cloud summary jobs. For #1075, run the pinned offline structural validator and record that both target errors are gone without new errors.

Explanation

Docstring coverage is 50.00% which is insufficient. The required threshold is 80.00%. Docstring coverage is scoped to functions touched by this diff. Analyzed 10 functions across 4 files. (6 skipped: 6 unsupported.)

Resolution

Write docstrings for the functions missing them to satisfy the coverage threshold.

🟡 Minor · Skip notify when the workflow is cancelled. · deploy-all.yml:251

.github/workflows/deploy-all.yml:251
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Skip notify when the workflow is cancelled.

If a deploy run is cancelled, if: always() can keep notify running. The summary step can then write a deployment summary before the new check marks the result as failed. Change the job condition to if: ${{ !cancelled() }}. This still permits summaries after failed jobs but prevents summaries on cancellation. (docs.github.com)

Based on PR objectives, issue #196 requires cancelled runs to produce no summary.

Merge gate at 1b1e4b9b3e16b2036e04309ef66685398fe77636

Independent review 1 (cold brief, non-author): APPROVE 1b1e4b9b3e16b2036e04309ef66685398fe77636 (pass 1 APPROVE at d49b3da4, pass 2 on the test-only delta)

Pass 1 attacked the JWKS URL check (userinfo trick, localhost.evil.com, localhost., 127.0.0.1.nip.io, 0.0.0.0, IPv6 zone ids rejected; ::1, LOCALHOST, 127.0.0.2 accepted), the deploy-all check_job under bash -e over 10 selected/result combinations (no fail-open path), and three mutations (validateHTTPSURL returning nil, EqualFold to HasPrefix, numeric exclusiveMinimum), each failing a test. Pass 2: both new tests pass; isLoopbackHost -> ip != nil now fails the three new cases; AKS key back to "password" fails the new test. Nit: the AKS test is regex-based but fails loudly (not vacuously) on a reformat.

Independent review 2 (cold brief, non-author): APPROVE 1b1e4b9b3e16b2036e04309ef66685398fe77636 (pass 1 REQUEST_CHANGES at d49b3da4)

Pass 1 findings and resolution:

  1. No negative case for a non-loopback IP literal (ip != nil mutant survived): fixed in 67e323d7; the mutant now fails.
  2. fix(iac/azure): AKS DB_PASSWORD_SECRET reads a Secret key that doesn't exist #1115 had no regression test: fixed in 1b1e4b9b (TestAKSDatabaseSecretKeyRefsExistInSecretData); mutating the key fails it.
  3. fix(iac/aws): lambda module's AWS_IAM Function URL default is unreachable via its own inputs #130 "Closes": accepted; the issue offers either option and the description now matches the code.
  4. fix(openapi): correct two schema definitions for the declared 3.0.3 dialect #1075 payload validation: out of scope (nit).
Pass 2 also ran actionlint .github/workflows/deploy-all.yml (clean) and re-ran the TestOpenAPIDialect303Schemas mutants (all fail).

Local verification (macOS, exact head, worktree clean):

  • go build ./..., go test -race -short -count=1 ./... and make lint pass.
  • terraform fmt -check -recursive passes on terraform/modules/compute/azure/aks, terraform/modules/compute/aws/lambda and terraform/environments/azure.

CI: all checks are green at this SHA. The first attempt failed only in TestMigration_BackfillAdminGroupIDs, which hit an i/o timeout on its testcontainers Postgres right after migrating. That package is untouched by this PR, and the rerun of the failed jobs passed.

Threads: none open. CodeRabbit is waived as a merge gate (owner decision 2026-10-19).

Merge gate update at 9c49846e165862477d1f9f74f6c51ff2eb4718ec

This supersedes the gate comment for 1b1e4b9b. New commit 9c49846e fixes CodeRabbit's valid finding and completes #1075's acceptance criteria:

  • RecommendationsCollectionPartial is now nullable: true, and last_collection_partial is a bare $ref, so the null the API returns validates under OpenAPI 3.0.3.
  • TestOpenAPIDialect303Schemas resolves the ref and checks null, a valid object, a positive cap and the zero boundary.

Reviews: both independent reviewers approve 9c49846e.

  • Review 1: mutation (component nullable removed) fails the test.
  • Review 2: re-ran Redocly 1.34.20 --extends minimal: valid, 0 errors, 17 warnings, the same as before. It also checked the Go serialization (config/types.go:794, no omitempty: null or an object). Its nit, not new to this PR: a nil Providers slice would serialize as null.

Local verification (macOS, exact head): go build ./..., go test -race -short -count=1 ./... and make lint pass. terraform fmt -check -recursive passes on the three touched Terraform directories. The combined tree of main plus this branch also passed go build ./... and go test -race -short on ./internal/api/... and ./internal/server/... (checked at 1b1e4b9b; 9c49846e only changes internal/api spec and test).

CI: green at this SHA. Threads: the CodeRabbit thread is answered and resolved.

Resolves the conflict in deploy-all.yml's "Check for failures" step with
main's LeanerCloud#1127 check_job allowlist. Main's logic is kept as is; its five
new ${{ }} run-block interpolations now read the notify job's existing
env vars (DEPLOY_<CLOUD>, DEPLOY_<CLOUD>_RESULT and
DETERMINE_DEPLOYMENT_RESULT), so the run-block census stays at 0.
