What this adds

Documentation and a portal-ready file for the Activate Azure Benefits for Windows Arc Machines policy. The policy definition itself is unchanged.

Changes

  • README.md (new — the folder had none): documents both deployment paths — Command line / pipeline (using the existing azurepolicy.rules.json + azurepolicy.parameters.json) and Azure Portal (copy & paste).
  • azurepolicy.portal.json (new): the properties contents only, ready to paste into the portal's Policy rule box.

Why

The folder ships three files (azurepolicy.json, azurepolicy.rules.json, azurepolicy.parameters.json) with no README, and it isn't obvious which to use where. Pasting the ARM-wrapped azurepolicy.json into the portal fails with:

Could not find member 'name' on object of type 'PolicyDefinitionProperties'.

The new README explains the three-file layout, gives ready-to-run CLI/PowerShell, and points portal users at the new azurepolicy.portal.json. It also cross-links the companion SQL Server Arc license-type policy in microsoft/sql-server-samples.

…s Arc Machines

- Add README.md documenting CLI/pipeline and Azure portal deployment paths (folder had none)
- Add azurepolicy.portal.json (properties-only) so the portal 'Policy rule' box accepts a paste without the 'Could not find member name' error
- Cross-link to the companion SQL Server Arc license-type policy
