Replace the --json flag with a --format choice and make every output-producing command honor it via a fmt argument. Also fixes the _list_doc_option arg-count bug so doc new --list-options works.
Correct the ptyhon typo, run unittest from the project dir so tests are discovered, and fail on any error (set -e).
