.xinitrc file #64

Description

@jonathanpepinmoore

I am using

#!/bin/sh
exec /usr/local/bin/wmaker

In my .xinitrc file but its not working I installed the gnustep, windowmaker, xorg and gnustep-app meta port on FreeBSD 16.0 CURRENT any help? Any help pulling on all the maintainers files in the macports would be appreciated. I go to FreeBSD's GitHub and download the CVS files of FreeBSD is it POSIX? The only Linux Distros I can tolerate are Debian because of the KFreeBSD kernel and Oracle Linux. OpenBSD is too easy. I have NeXtStep sources from when I was younger. Linux does always crash. When I startx it launches XTERM. not Windowmaker. gnustep-app is really just GAP.

it's 3:29 EST I have to eat lunch. I ate a Turkey sandwich and a Vanilla yogurt.

I use nano and sudo using just exec wmaker in the .xinitrc file still doesn't work. the above link helped now its looking for a XAuthority file.

Now .Xauthority I can startx '(with enable_xauth=1)` for all users. just not Windowmaker I am using ZSH not Bash
I may use DOAS silimar to RUNAS and VIM I just dont like VIM. you really should use doas and window maker together.

did a pkg remove zsh and a pkg install bash still no dice.

Microsoft uses a Stacking Window Manager

I used FreeBSD 15.0 RELEASE yesterday and it worked but I was getting a certificate error late in the day and pkg wouldn't load

Thank You,
