Since you still have this marked as -dev without an official release, it can only be installed off of dev-master which is risky at best. Since people are encouraged (currently) to use dev-master, if you introduce breaking changes later, they'll get them automatically the next time they update.
Packaging a 1.0 release would eliminate this problem because they could lock on a specific version.
