Not rendering local .md file #288

Description

@AndreyOrb

Hi,

After installing the extension and enabling access to local files, local .md files are rendered correctly.

I also associated *.md files with Chrome so I can open them by double-clicking.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install the extension
  2. Enable Allow access to file URLs
  3. Associate .md files with Chrome
  4. Close all Chrome windows
  5. Double-click a .md file

Expected behavior

The Markdown file should be rendered automatically.

Actual behavior

Chrome opens, but the file is displayed as raw Markdown (not rendered).

If Chrome is already open, double-clicking the same file works correctly and renders as expected.

To fix it temporarily, I have to:

  • Open the extension options
  • Click Render

What I tried

  1. Reinstalling the extension
  2. Verifying that Safe Browsing is set to Standard
  3. Clicking the Defaults button (based on issue Not rendering local .md file despite allowing file:///* URLs and local file URLs #131)
