Story
The product no longer offers the ability to subscribe to a newsletter (or course/email updates). Remove this capability from the product experience.
As part of dropping the newsletter feature, the product also stops collecting the user''s email address — email was only ever gathered to offer the newsletter opt-in, so there is no remaining reason to read, pre-fill, store, or transmit it.
Why
We no longer run newsletter/course subscriptions from within the product. Removing the feature also removes the only place where the product collected a personal email address, which is a welcome data-minimization improvement.
What changes for the user
- The setup / consent screen no longer shows a "subscribe to the newsletter" option.
- The product no longer pre-fills or asks for an email address.
- No email address is sent anywhere by the product.
Acceptance criteria
Notes
- This is about the newsletter/email-subscription feature only. License subscriptions (paid-plan status, license registration) are unrelated and must stay untouched.
- The privacy policy and any setup-screen wording that mention newsletter/email collection should be updated to match.
