Hi Monkeytype team,First of all, I want to say how much I appreciate the incredible work you put into this platform. It is hands-down the most intuitive and customizable typing tool available.
I am writing to pitch a new feature idea that could drastically help users focus on and improve their specific weak points: Targeted Weak Letter / Character Weighting.
#The Idea:
Currently, users can practice misspelled or slow words, or use custom word filters. However, it would be highly beneficial to have an option where a user can input specific letters they struggle with (e.g., z, x, d, y, b).
Once defined, the test generator would create paragraphs or sentences where words containing these specific characters appear with a much higher frequency than usual.
Suggested Implementation:Character Input: A setting field in the custom typing mode where users can type in specific letters or bigrams.
Algorithm/Weighting: The text generator could pull or dynamically build passages ensuring that the chosen characters are heavily
weighted in the generated words.
Why this helps: It isolates the hardest keys, allowing users to build muscle memory for challenging transitions and finger combinations without having to manually curate custom word lists.
