Stuck in version hell - Error "Diarization failed: hf_hub_download() got an unexpected keyword argument 'use_auth_token'"

I'm getting the following error when trying to use diarization.

Diarization failed: hf_hub_download() got an unexpected keyword argument 'use_auth_token'

The issue is that huggingface_hub changed the hf_hub_download function and it no longer uses use_auth_token. Downgrading to version 0.13.4 doesn't work as there are other compatibility errors. I've tried a pile of different version combos and I'm pretty sure that the right combo simply doesn't exist, at least not in Windows.

I was finally able to solve this with a monkey patch, but this is obviously not ideal.

thank you very much for the report!

I will add a compatibility layer in the next version. Tracking as priority issue!

The use_auth_token parameter was deprecated in huggingface_hub >= 0.14.0 in favor of just token. WhisperX hasn't updated their dependency handling yet, which creates the version hell you're experiencing. (as far as I understand at first sight)

Proper fix coming soon!

In the meantime, you could try

pip install huggingface-hub==0.20.0
pip install pyannote.audio==3.1.1
