Bug description

The default Download Manager does not instantly show downloads in the notification panel and also does not display download progress notifications. But the files gets downloaded after hours automatically and shows on the files.

If a download progress notification appears and I tap it, the device reboots and gets stuck on the crDroid boot logo. I have to force power off the device using the power button and then boot it again.

Steps to reproduce

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open any app that uses the system Download Manager.
  2. Start downloading a file.
  3. Observe that the download progress notification may not appear, and the file does not immediately show up in the Files app.
  4. If a download progress notification appears, tap on it.

Expected Behavior

  • Download progress should be displayed correctly in the notification panel.
  • Downloaded files should appear immediately in the Files app.
  • Tapping the download notification should open the download details without issues.

Actual Behavior

  • Download progress is often not shown.
  • Downloaded files do not appear immediately in the Files app.
  • Tapping the download notification causes the device to reboot and become stuck on the crDroid boot logo until a manual power-off is performed.
