0.2.79 and the road to automations you can trust

OpenTasker is an Android automation app in the Tasker tradition, built on the position that your automations are yours: local, inspectable, no account anywhere.

0.2.79 was a trust release. You can now review a staged database restore and cancel it before it applies. Active executions are visible and can be cancelled cooperatively instead of hoping they finish. Per-step variable writes get recorded and surface in the run log, which turns "why did this profile do that at 3am" from archaeology into reading.

Next up from the roadmap: an ACTION_SEND share target, so text and files shared from any app can route into a task with filters, and a management screen for Locale plugin grants so you can inspect and revoke individual ones instead of trusting the auto-revoke.

The app ships in 14 languages. Some hardcoded English still hides on secondary screens, that's tracked and being worked through, and there's an issue open if extracting strings sounds like your kind of contribution. If you use a translated build and see something mixed or awkward, that report helps more than you'd guess.
