Description
Describe the bug
When using headsetcontrol to check the battery level on the Audeze Maxwell, the audio balance permanently shifts, making the right earcup noticeably louder than the left. The shift occurs immediately after the command is executed.
It seems that the initialization packets or the battery request packet (-b / -c) accidentally overwrites or resets the internal DSP L/R balance registers in the headset's memory.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Connect Audeze Maxwell via the wireless USB dongle.
- Run the command:
headsetcontrol.exe -b (or -c).
- The command successfully returns the battery percentage (or attempts to).
- Play any audio — the sound is now imbalanced (right ear is louder).
Expected behavior
The battery level should be read without altering the headset's internal DSP or audio balance settings.
Additional context
Restarting the headset or the PC does not fix the issue. The ONLY way to restore the correct audio balance is to perform a hard Factory Reset via the official Audeze HQ software.
I am using headsetcontrol version 4.0.0.
