Attribute name gets reset to "Attribute" when I select the type

The layout of the UI suggests that I should enter the attribute name, and then select the data type. But if I do this, the attribute name textfield gets reset to "Attribute" whenever I select a value from the attribute type popover button, so I end up having to type in the attribute name again...
