a while back I added this PR PostHog/github-release-tracking-plugin#10 but I think it might be more elegant to actually handle this via GAs for orgs that outgrow the “single repo”. also the github release tracking plugin frequently fails and I assume the GA solution would be more reliable.

Came looking for a GH action that does this and found this action + issue. I agree GA would be better, at least for my use case, because I don't use releases (my releases happen after merging to main on a remote machine).

I could try to fork this and add support... 🤔

edit: I ended up adding a Powershell script to my deployment pipeline (using Azure DevOps until I switch to GA).
