Use stack instead of recursion for DFS cycle detection/removal algorithms

mostly just helps with efficiency and resource usage. a huge network could potentially overflow with too much recursion.

I'd also like to add evaluation to this. A feed-forward pass could be implemented with a work queue, simplifying the execution model and making optimizations much easier to implement.
