When deleting a note with a checkbox the checkbox remains

I would say this is not a bug, but since it goes away when reloading the page, the inconsistency should be addressed. Maybe it's OK, though. Imagine wrote something, made the note a checkbox and then deleted what he or she wrote. The note should not revert to a bullet; it should stay a checkbox so that the user can write something else. If the user leaves the page, then he or she is clearly no longer interested in that note and it can revert to the default.

Unrelated to the issue, but it might be worth adding a setting to make notes default to checkboxes, too.
