Third-party content
================================================================================
This repository aggregates community-contributed and ingested third-party
"skills" under categories/. The repository as a whole is MIT-licensed, but an
individual skill directory may carry its own upstream license in a LICENSE file
inside that directory. Where present, that per-skill LICENSE governs the
contents of that directory.
Provenance for ingested skills is declared in each SKILL.md frontmatter and
copied into the generated registry.json: `license` (required), `author`, and
`source` (the upstream URL; recorded only when it is an http(s) URL).
Contributors ingesting third-party content should set these fields and include
the upstream LICENSE in the skill directory.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
License compatibility policy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To keep the MIT-rooted repository redistributable, copyleft-licensed source
(GPL, LGPL and AGPL family) MUST NOT be copied into skill directories. Skills
must be permissively licensed (e.g. MIT, BSD, Apache-2.0, ISC, Unlicense, CC0,
CC-BY/CC-BY-SA for prose) or original work. `tools/check_licenses.py` enforces
this in CI for both per-skill LICENSE files and frontmatter `license` values.
Skills already in the corpus that declare a copyleft value are listed, with
the reason, in `tools/license_exceptions.txt` pending review; that list may
only shrink.
If you believe a skill's attribution or license is incorrect, please open an
issue so it can be corrected or removed.
