how do I add 3D models in codename engine

I believe that Codename uses a custom, optimized version of away3d for this task, the original being developed by OpenFL themselves as a port and the custom version being made specifically for Codename Engine. It does look like that Codename Engine will soon use flixel3d as a replacement or an alternative, though for now the former is still used. Many examples for the OpenFL version of away3d are available online and should theoretically work with Codename Engine under the right circumstances.
