Loading a Character Mod, disables other Characters

I have a small problem with the mod loader.

When I try to load a mod like the TT Engineer Character Mod (https://gamebanana.com/mods/327021), I can use the character fine, but some other characters (dexter and r2-q5) are unplayable.

This is how I use the mod.

And this is the result.

This is my normal character selection without mods.

If I look in the shop, all characters are purchased and I cant purchase them again.

Other mods produce the same problem.

I will test installing that manually, but it may be an issue with how the game manages characters in existing save files.
