Question: adjust jd_decomp buffer size

Can I adjust the buffer size and the number of points passed to the jd_decomp function?
I would like to reduce the height and width of the transmitted rectangles.

If I simple change JD_SZBUF from 512 to 256 jd_prepare return error = 4
