If have a battery at 100 % and still charge, does it charge and use the battery or directly works with the incoming electricity?

What if there is an electric outage?

Maybe unplugging the battery to see if it able to boot without is a good start.

For an old VAIO it was the case at least if I remember correctly.

The aim is to plug as most as possible mobile devices to improve battery life instead of just plugging them when running low on battery.

Contrarily to phones, laptops are more usually plugged in my opinion, so can more leverage it for laptops but maybe as they have bigger battery and electricity consumpyion it is less relevant.

The question is also if it charges and discharges the battery at the same time, if so, then just charging the battery and using the power socket electricity for the device would make charging faster.
