As I mentioned last week we were still waiting for the documentation of the stepper driver. It seems they sent it a few days ago. I am at a conference this week but I was planning to give this a quick stab once it is done. I should note that we can still start tests with this version since this feature is not yet available in the current dynamic foraging either.

From meeting yesterday:

• both retract if early lick in quiescent period if hardware has the ability to do so, unretract after a fixed amount of time ​

• Retract opposite lick spout during response period. Still undetermined whether to extend at the start or end of iti?

Are stepper driver docs available now? Should we moving forward with quick retract implementation?

• Retract both spouts on early lick during the quiescent period (if hardware allows), then unretract after a fixed delay.
• Retract the opposite spout during the response period.
  Note: One remaining detail is confirming when spouts re‑extend relative to the ITI (start vs end)
